Juggling Camp Nano, edits, and blog posts this month has been interesting to say the least.
So, Camp Nano didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, but I’ve already talked about that. I know where I went wrong, I think. Hopefully July will be better, if I decide to enter then. I’m not sure how writing the rest of Boxers will go or if I’ll be done with it by then, so we’ll see. I’m also not sure if I’ll be working on the Dragon Bones sequel at the same time or if I’ll put it off until July so I can do Nano with it. At the end of the day, I know I don’t want to start with a project that’s already started again, haha.
The edits, however, have been going great! I’ve put a lot of focus and attention on them, I’m determined to get them done right. And you guys. I can’t wait for you to see how it’s turning out. My editor is wonderful, and I’m definitely enjoying working with her. She’s been pushing me to make Dragon Bones: Wedded the best it can possibly be, and I love it.
Round one will be done soon, and then we’ll prepare for round two. The process is a lot of back and forth between me and the editor until it’s done. I’m so excited for the ending steps, but I know I have to be patient with the process.
Editing in the morning has been the best way for me to get work done. I don’t know why my brain is like this, but more methodical work is easier for me to address in the morning. And creative work, like drafting, is easier for me at night. That was how I was able to find any time at all for Nano, haha. Only my problem with Nano wasn’t time as much as it was writer’s block that got in the way.
I really can’t wait for you guys to see how Dragon Bones turns out, and what I have planned for the sequel is going to be even more exciting.
So I’ll catch you guys later!
I’ll let you know if I survive round two 😂
